5 videogames JAKIM won’t have a problem playing!
Last week, the Malay-language tabloid Harian Metro published their latest Moral Panic expose: OMG, videogames are evil! However, unlike the rest of the world’s media — who, for the decade since Columbine , have been decrying games for their violence — the Harian Metro report did not have a problem with blood. (It admitted that titles on the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 gave players ” keseronokan …

There was a time in my life when I didnât care for video games at all. I had to have the radio on whether I was cleaning or doing a jigsaw puzzle and if anyone (I called them the gamers) wanted to play a game in the living room, they had to do it with the sound off. I didnât even like to hear the sound of them. (Even now I prefer the volume on the low side) They would ask me why I thought there was something wrong with playing video games. I just couldnât understand how they could sit there and play for hours. How they must have loved when I was at work. I laugh at this now and they sure wonât let me live it down. Â
One day I came home from work and âthe gamersâ were playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I decided that I would try it and once I learned how to use the controller I was hooked. I went from that game to Gran Turismo 2. One time I played for 16 hours straight. Time sure flies when youâre having fun.Â
I tried playing some of the golf games and I enjoyed the ones that are easy. Golden Tee and Hot Shots are my favorites. I did enjoy playing Mario Golf on the Gamecube, although I only had the chance to play it a couple of times. (I am a Playstation person.) I find that most of the other golf games are too hard for me.
One boring evening I decided to go out and rent a video game. While I was in the store I came across The Legend of Dragoon. I hadnât tried playing a role playing game yet and so I decided to try it. I didnât like the fact that you had to fight so much so I fought as little as possible.  I beat the game (barely) and played it again right away. I did fight more the second time around and beat the game again. It was so much fun that I have been hooked on rpgâs since and Iâve learned that the more you fight the better.Â
When someone asks me why I like to play these types of games, I tell them to think of it as watching a movie or reading a book and being part of it. You play your part as best you can and slowly work your way to your objective. Â
Recently I discovered that a friend of mine has The Legend of Dragoon and so I borrowed it. I wanted to remember why I loved it so much. So, I am now in the process of playing it again. Memories of my very first role playing game, life is good. I must say that after playing on the pc, the ps1 sure is slow, lol. I am still having loads of fun with it though.Â
Ten years have passed since I played my first rpg. Since then I have played games such as: Wild Arms, Final Fantasy, Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits, Suikedon 1-4 (with the exception of number three), Radiata Stories, Shining Tears, Atelier Iris, etcâ¦Â As you can see, I am addicted to rpgâs. My favorite would be Final Fantasy XI Online. Now thatâs a fun game. Even the fighting is a ton of fun.Â
I also enjoy games like Burnout Revenge. I especially liked the road rage. You can drive fast and be as wreckless as you want. Itâs great! As mentioned earlier, I do like to play golf on occasion.
I have tried Grand Theft Auto and the only reason that I donât play it, is I donât like to kill people. I tried to drive fast without hitting anyone it just doesnât work. I donât mind killing monsters and such, but not people. I did make some people laugh, though. I know itâs just a game and it still bothers me.Â
I cannot comment on sports games for the simple fact that I havenât tried playing any. I have watched others play them, they just donât interest me. Rpgâs rule for me.
I do still listen to the radio just not as much as before and I donât play video games as much as I would like to. I get to play 10-20 hours a week and I enjoy every minute of it.Â
I must say that role playing games can be very addicting. Just donât forget about your personal life and always make sure that your priorities are in order. Now, If an individual gets out of bed in the morning, goes straight for their game and 20 hours later they are still playing, and they do this the majority of the time, then there might be a problem.Â
If you have the day off and everything is done that you needed to get done, then I say, go ahead and play your game all night. Thereâs nothing wrong with that. Happy Gaming!

Games have always been a part of man’s life. It would not be off the point to say that man has evolved playing games! Although childhood is the stage most commonly associated with playing games, adults too show a keen interest in play and sports. Professional and organized sports are a big industry, and almost every adult shows some interest in sports and related events, whether it is watching live games, or reading about them in the morning newspaper.
The internet has brought about a revolution in the games industry. Never before was it possible to play a live game from your home with players from round the world. Even before the internet, the video gaming industry was immensely popular with the younger generation. The PC brought home monitor versions of popular games. Now the internet connects the whole world into one big thriving gaming community.
Games like Combat have conquered some of the young adults as never before. The thrill of being a part of a combat team and fighting off terrorists in a near realistic virtual environment is simply amazing.
What is it that hooks some of us into computer and web games? The basic technique appears to be a simple hand-to-eye co-ordination performed while seated. A real game at least involves us physically, and is good for our health.
Perhaps the most to benefit from the web gaming revolution are the card and board games. It is simple and easy to play these games utilizing the power of software programming that keeps track of timings, wrong moves, and other rules of the game.

Playing video games, computer games, or online games is probably one of the best ways to relax, stay committed, become less bored, and even blow off a couple of hours. One of the best ways a majority of us relax, stay engaged, stave off boredom, or even blow off hours.
On the website bigfishgames.com, I own hundreds of games. I play games at two different gaming websites. I also play games at two gaming sites. I started playing in the early 80s, yes the time where you had to go through that wonderful sound when you logged into your dial up internet connection.
To middle-aged single people, who prefer to play games that do not have violence in them, I suggest Pogo; it is a place that you can get hooked on. If you want to play for free, you have to sit through an intermission but, you can pay to play games at Pogo, which is very affordable in my opinion. It is for people who want to be home bound since they do not like some people on the outside world, and do not spend money unless it is on food or your home.
You accumulate different benefits when you play games on such a site:
1. Whatever you call platforms in modern day all return to their natural form. This means that you can play those classic games such as Scrabble, Checkers, or Canasta, with an AI on the computer in which you can set the difficulty that he plays at. New mini-me cartoons that have frowns, smiles, and facial expressions for winning or losing a round.
2. There is an option in which you get to chat with a person that you are playing with in real-time, and there is no time delay. No, you dont hear from 10 minutes later, you hear from them instantly as you guys are playing the game. You can type to someone (sort of like AIM or MSN Messenger) on the other side of the world. You have the ability to abandon the robot opponent and face up against a human opponent or even a group of opponents.
3. The consecutive advantage of #2 are a lot: social recognition; bridges area; energizes sympathy for other people online such as feelings, peoples attitudes, and their issues in life; and lets people experience the games that they play offline, online.
4. Playing games online also encourages amity and adds to knowledge advancement on any type of level. Everybody in the online gaming community help one another operate, talk with each other, take control of all sorts of PC commands/controls, and play exotic games. It is a wonderful thing.
When you play games, you know all of the modes and all the types of games. This can help you fight off things such as Alzheimers, senility, and stuff like ADD, ADHD, and OCD, although this has not been proven.
When you play games, you allure encouragement for beating the best, so that you can perform in a competition mode. If you play games, you will soon become the common denominator that has grasped the ability of claim, and even got out of doing some of your work, and was able to feel the joy of winning and feeling that you are worth it. It might be virtual and virtually useless for anything else besides other virtual activities. It does not matter what it is, as long as it is enjoyable.

Video games are loved by the kids and teenagers. They are passionate about the latest games and their characters. However, a number of advanced features have been included in the modern gaming systems so that players could enjoy more excitement. The adults are also seen enjoying various exciting games. The story line, video graphics, sound quality, etc., of these games have been improved significantly and therefore gamers often find themselves lost in the gaming world.
Modern games are not mere source of entertainment, rather these require some skills to play and win. The computer generated enemies fight against the gamers and overcoming them is a big deal. The gaming companies provide games cheat systems to the players so that they could thrash the threatening enemies. These cheats are basically the codes that are used for giving a slip to the computer so that the player could win the game. These help the gamers in progressing to the next stage by just pressing a few keys.
Cheat codes are available with all kinds of games. However, it is advised not to use them very often otherwise one can loose the excitement after playing for sometime. These can be used when a software causes problems in computer or freezes it. In some cases, the developers themselves offer the codes so that the players could be introduced to the next levels of the game. Not every person will agree that games cheat systems are the right things to be used while playing games. They consider cheating as a dreadful trait and therefore cheat codes should not be used. However, these become very helpful when the gamer is not getting any clue how to go ahead while playing game. For example, one wants to jump up to other levels without completing previous ones. The cheats become helpful in this case as the players do not get annoyed.
Playstation 3 is a gaming console on which modern video and computer games can be played. It is a device which is based on several modern and innovative technologies. The cheat codes prove to be very helpful in completing the difficult levels. These are configured outside of the game manuals and one can find them on different online websites. There are many other sources from where hints can be found. These include discussion forums, codes directories, other gamers, etc. One can also get them through different search engines and use the hints to explore the options available in the games.
A number of websites are available on the internet, but one should take cheats only from reliable sources. Various portals contain viruses that can harm your computer system. PS3cheatcodes.com, Gamespot.com, Cheatzone.com, etc., are reliable sites that offer cheat codes to the players. One can also get tips and hints there for using the codes. The PS3 game lovers get a lot of other benefits on these sites. The expert reviews, tutorials, summaries, walk-throughs, etc., are available to them so that the games could be made easier to play.
PlayStation 3 cheat codes are recommended to be used in role-playing games. The player assumes as if he or she is one of the characters in the game and therefore becomes excited when the enemies are thrashed. These codes are in great demand now a days in both offline and online markets. The gamers use them to give more strength to the characters.
Everyone likes to win the games by hook or by crook. One can compete with the online opponents and defeat them by using game cheats. Once you improve in playing the high-tech games, reliability on these becomes less. Hence, the cheats are also helpful in sharpening the skills of players. Overall, it can be stated that the game cheat systems are very useful and they make the gamers more competitive. Because of them, playing games has become much more exciting and enjoyable.

Have you ever heard of Valve’s digital pc game download service called Steam? Well if you haven’t, then prepare to get a cash course because you will need it in order to play these games. Basically you set up a free account with them, download a software that manages your games and then you buy whatever games you want from their numerous catalog. Want to know the best deals for your money there? Coming up: the list.
* Half Life Source
halflifesourceThis is one of the finest games from Valve and the start of their main franchise, i still remember the scares i got with those damn creatures “chirping” in the dark or the great A.I. found on enemy soldiers(for it’s time) Anyhow the original Half Life has received an graphical overhaul by using the relatively new Source engine from Valve as well. For those of you who missed the original or just want a to experience the game again, there is no better alternative than having the same good old game with stunning new graphics.
* Sacred Gold
sacredThere have been many Diablo’s look-alikes, clones and so forth; one that really stands out from the pack, it’s Ascaron’s Sacred. There is noting really innovative with the game, besides the fact that each character class has a completely different story within the game and maybe the huge game map; nevertheless what is there it’s really excellently accomplished. It’s one of those games, if you like RPGs that is, it’s easy to pick up and very difficult to put down; there are no turns here, but to me the effect feels like Civilization’s “one more turn” dilemma. Just that in this case it’s probably a quest instead of a turn! Plus here it comes packed with it’s expansion Underworld, so you probably have like 50 house of gameplay in total. That packed with multi player options, is definetly worth 10 bucks.
* Nexus – The jupiter incident
nexusjpgNexus is really an odd thing, born out of the remain of Imperium Galactica 3’s demise, it really surprised many people with it’s graphics and tactical fleet combat. If you ever wondered what is like to command a fleet of space ships, ala Sheridan on B5 or Ackbar on SW, then this is the game for you. Launching fighters, boarding enemy ships/installations, targeting specific ship systems and much more is at your disposeal to take down enemies. Years later from it’s debut, it’s still an awe inspiring game due to it’s graphics; watching your ship leaving a plasma trail due to it’s engine, while it’s living quarters rotates to create a G force and listening to great atmosphere music it’s still a beautiful experience unto itself. If you want to have a fling with a tactical space RTS, then this is your chance, but if you are a genre fan; how come you still haven’t played it!?
* Psychonauts
psychonautsIt’s really hard to describe this game, i mean “a wonderful third person original fun platform adventure” just doesn’t seem to do it justice and sounds even worst. But that’s what Psychonauts is, a masterful combination of platformer with the humor, story telling and dialogue options often found in adventure games. Furthermore the whole look of the game it’s really original, it kinds of reminds me of American Mcgee’s Alice; although of course in a much ligther tone. In any case this is real treat for adventure/platformer fans, to me it wasn’t much for the platformer but the great story telling that really hook me up. We have a winner gentlemen!
* Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30
brothersinarmsBrother’s pitch is a tactical squad shooter take on ww2 and for the most part they really got it right. You have great authenticity, atmosphere and of course tactics you can give to your squad_ but it really falls short from excellent in some aspects. Nevertheless what you have here, at it’s very worst, an excellent ww2 first personal shooter experience. If you are looking for a COD WAW replacement until you can come up with those 50 or so bucks, this is a really cheap and excellent alternative.
* Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
deusexTHE best RPG/FPS hybrid in my opinion until Fallout 3 showed up, this great title is often overlooked when looking back on gaming; i don’t know why since it not only was a smash hit back then but today it plays pretty darn good as well. Furthermore with this version that includes multiplayer and a mission editor, you really are getting your money’s worth. Conspiracies, terrorists, robots and even aliens all included with some great story telling; you really can’t ask for more. So if you are looking for a “meaningful” FPS experience or are an RPG fan wanted to get down an dirty with an FPS, this is your chance.
* Beyond Good and Evil
beyondgoodandevilA simple beat em’ up at first glance, don’t let this fool you. You are looking at an superb third person action adventure, with strong stealth game elements and the best of it al, taking animals!
Great action sequences, mixed with great story telling and plenty of stealth to go around; make up this excellent game. Some vehicle segments also help to keep up the pace with some variety. All in all it’s a great way to spend the time until Beyond Good and Evil 2 arrives.
* Rome: Total War Complete
rometwcompletejpgBoth Gold and Alexander, whichever fancies you, are a must get for any strategy fan and damn well worth the ten bucks; the fact that you will get BOTH these games for that money is beyond superb. We are talking about masterpieces, well technically only one because after Alexander was more of like a “grand mod” of it; but nevertheless both excellent games and you can’t call you a strategy fan if you haven’t try them or at least Total War series game. What is there to say? Historical recreation, managing of cities, grand armies on the map and epic real time battles; perfect for the so called “arm chair” commanders, and i am proud to say i consider myself among their ranks.
* IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946
il2There seems to be a shortage of flight simulators as of late and no, HAWX doesn’t count; all indications say it’s more arcade focus than simulator. IL-2 Sturmovik now, that is a simulator; 400 different planes, 200 missions, historical campaigns, realistic flight models, what if scenarios, online play and tons of stuff make this THE most complete simulator out there. A real bang for your buck. If you are a flight sim junkie, not even the ww2 period can put you off; you have to try this one. WW2 air combat simulations have never been this complete nor this good.
* Civilization III Complete
civ3What is there to say!? It’s a civ game for 5 bucks for god sake, it’s definitely a no brainer. Specially when you can’t afford it’s little brother which eats up 6 times as much money; okay, the 3d graphics upgrade do chip in. In any case this great 4x title for only 5 bucks it’s a must get, however be warned if you are not into deep strategic thinking; this is not for you. RTS junkies stay away! Only people well acquainted with the “just one more turn” syndrome are allowed!
Well that’s it, these are my ten games you should really take a look over; specially to Steam; if you haven’t done so already. On a side note, I really wanted to write “… under 10 minutes… ” but that was pushing it too far, for any Internet connection; 1 hours makes more sense!
Well what do you think about the list? Is some masterpiece missing?
